After this game and MK Trilogy MK went adventure/action, and then 3-D with MK4 and up. Some of the characters introduced in this game are among my favourites and still apear in Mortal kombat games. The moves and coulours and character bios set them all apart quite sufficiently even though the robots looked identicle, as did the ninjas, but it really did add to the gameplay. The bringing back of so many old characters which used similar sprites to each other to really pump the number of fighters was brilliant. The only thing i really missed in this game was Shiva, though she does show up as a secret character without a sprite (invisible). The multi-player function was way beyond MK3 which looks like MK2 by comparison. A guide for game preview and rules: history, definitions, classification, theory, video game consoles, cheating, links, etc. The difficulty was up there with the arcade but a slew of codes and special modes opened the game up wide for anyone.
